Learning How Build a Mobile Game Through Tutorials

Building a mobile game can feel like one of the most difficult things to do if you have never done it before. Thats exactly how I felt I didn’t even know where to begin so I just dug into it and before I knew it I had a decent looking semi functional game that I would never show anyone! However now a days there is a lot more information out there to help you and even software to assist you in every aspect from laying out a level to building the game.  The main question I had when I began was HOW? How am I going to build this thing, I know objective-c but I also want to build an Android app but can I build it twice? Is there a language or framework I can use to accomplish this or should I just build it for iOS and worry about Android if the game takes off? I will tell you this go with what you are comfortable with or if your a complete beginner follow a tutorial it may not make sense at first but with the wealth of knowledge all over the internet today you will get it!

There a ton of sites out there to help you get started and the tutorials range from complete beginner to advanced and let me tell you even for advanced game developers it is always nice to go back and get a refresher. If you are reading this you probably know some sort of programming language or are trying to learn and you know the most important thing to being a Web Developer is continually gathering knowledge. So here are a list of sites that can help you on your journey to learning Mobile Game Development.

The courses they offer are top quality and very easy to follow, and they offer a ton of different courses ranging from learning HTML and CSS to PHP, Ruby, Python, iOS Development, Android Development, Marketing and Business. I urge you to sign up for their free trial you will fall in love instantly and never stop learning!

Next up is another one of my favorites and its the same deal they don’t just have game development courses / tutorials they offer everything you will need to succeed on the internet. This one is TUTS+ a hub for everything from design to programming to motion graphics and game development. Check it out they have both free a premium tutorials!

Finally these guys are new and they took the learn mobile game development world by storm with their tutorials that teach you how to build an Angry Birds clone and a Flappy Bird clone. MakeGamesWithUs has online course you can take for a fee but they also offer free tutorials to get you started!
